Saying Goodbye to Patricia Funt Antiques
After nearly two decades, the antique shop closes their doors forever.
The heirlooms of Patricia Funt Antiques are quite literally a thing of the past.
After nearly two decades in New Canaan, Patricia Funt Antiques is closing their doors for the last time Friday evening.
"The business is so much less predictable now," owner Patricia Funt said. "It just has gotten to a point over the last year and a half where we're supporting the store versus the store supporting us."

Funt has spent the last week delicately packing away the contents of her shop. Tucking away various collectables such as: silver napkin rings, teacups, 60-year-old post cards, ships in bottles, toys and enough bric-a-brac to make an Antique Road Show fan salivate.
"I like things with personality," Funt said of the heirlooms lining the walls of her Main Street shop. "The best things are the ones you can attach interest to, whether it's dog related or another hobby."

The objects in Funt's store range from two-dollar ephemera to $5,000 wooden carvings. But despite Patrica Funt's loyal New Canaan fan base, the tough economy has gotten the best of her business.
Funt says her antiques are still available for sale by visiting her website or calling her at 203-966-6139.
