Police are investigating after a severed deer head was recently found in the driveway of a New Canaan home.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Police are investigating after a severed deer head was found in the driveway of a New Canaan home late last month.
In an email to Patch this week, Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said the severed head was found in the driveway of a home in town on Aug. 27 around 3 p.m.
Ferraro declined to comment further on the case, including a potential motive, due to it being an open investigation.

The New Canaan Advertiser reports the head was found in the driveway of a Democratic town official but did not identify them by name.
