In a Shutout, New Canaan Wins FCIAC Field Hockey Championship

The Rams beat arch rival Darien to claim the title.

The drought is over for the New Canaan High School field hockey team.

In a 2-0 shutout, the Rams beat rival Darien Thursday evening to capture the team’s first FCIAC championship since 2000.

Leading the charge at Jack Casagrande Field in Norwalk was Isabel Taben who scored twice and the defense shut down the Darien Blue Wave for the title, according to The Advertiser. Darien was defending the title.

It was the third shutout for the team who reached the finals with wins over the top two seeds, including Wilton.
