Six Deficiencies Noted at Waveny Care Center: Feds

The deficiencies have since been corrected.

NEW CANAAN, CT—Federal health inspectors found six deficiencies at the Waveny Care Center during an unannounced visit.

The staff failed to properly ensure highly dependent residents were hydrated, according to the New Canaanite. They also failed to ensure that hygiene and dental needs were met.

The state average of deficiencies is 7.4 and the national average is 7.1. Four of Waveny's deficiencies are classified as minimal harm or the potential for actual harm and two are for minimal harm risk only.
