Three for three: Carolina represents the third entry and third win for St. Luke’s. In 2018, Amelia Wyckoff won for her Classical Scholars paper, "Villain or Victim: Sexuality, Gender, and Female Agency in Medea." And in 2014, Sebastian Bates won for his Classical Scholars paper, "A Wolf Among Many Hounds: Poetry, Politics, and Reform in Solon's Athens." Sebastian's paper was also published in Volume 25 of the Concord Review.
“I was really excited to hear that my paper had won the Cum Laude Society Paper Award!” said Carolina. “I know it wouldn't have been possible without the help I received from my teachers at St. Luke's, and I'm so grateful to them for everything they taught me and for the opportunity to participate in the STEM Scholars program.”

“For St. Luke's to have three national winners—a win each time we’ve submitted a student’s work—is a powerful testament to the strength of our academic program and the caliber of our faculty,” said Head of Upper School Liz Perry. “I could not be more proud of Carolina, Amelia, and Sebastian—each found their academic voice and used it to make a true contribution to the academic world. I am grateful to the Cum Laude Society for recognizing what an exceptional education looks like at St. Luke's.”
