St. Luke's 17th State of the School

A Night of Celebration, Information, and Inspiration

The 17th Annual State of the School drew more than 350 parents to St. Luke's on October 4th. Board Chair James Andersen, a Wilton resident, describes the evening’s goal as ensuring parents “feel connected to their children’s experience and confident about their school’s direction.”

Andersen and St. Luke's Head of School Mark Davis, a New Canaan resident, hosted the evening. This year’s theme “Potential” was brought to life during a “Ted-Talk style” presentation by a trio of St. Luke’s educators and one student, Clara Pakman, a senior from New Canaan. The foursome received a standing ovation for their vignettes about the power of humanities—a tribute to the School’s stunning new Arts & Humanities Wings.

Another New Canaan Resident, Peter Seldin was honored during the State of School. Seldin, a St. Luke’s Trustee for 18 years, was named Trustee Emeritus for “extraordinary generosity, spirit, and leadership.” The St. Luke’s Distinguished Faculty Award was also presented that evening to French teacher and World Language Department Chair, Jon Shee, of Woodbridge, CT.
