Summer Registration at the New Canaan YMCA

Registration for summer 2015 programs begins June 1.

Registration for the New Canaan YMCA’s summer non-camp program session begins on Monday, June 1 at 9:00 AM. The 8-week session begins on Monday, June 22 and runs through August 14.

Registration is available online for current members as well as the front desk. Financial assistance is available through gifts made to the Y’s Annual Support Campaign. Financial assistance applications and instructions may be found online at www.newcanaanymca.org/membership.

A wide array of instructional aquatics lessons will be available during the summer session for ages 6 months and older and for all experience levels. Understanding the importance of summer swim instruction and scheduling challenges that arise this time of year, the Y offers multiple session length options for swim lessons. Lessons are held in four-week sessions which meet once a week, in addition to one and two-week sessions which each meet four times a week. Smaller class options are also available through Power Pack classes, which last for one week with four classes and a limit of three participants. Adult swim lessons and the pool-based Arthritis Exercise class will also be available this summer.

Youth offerings for the summer session include a variety of sports and wellness programs, including soccer, lacrosse, and volleyball. Youth wellness programs include youth strength training and Parisi Speed School. The Parisi program is designed to deliver a positive training experience that improves speed of movement and strength in character regardless of athletic ability. The sports and wellness programs are an excellent way for youth to stay active throughout the summer.

The Y will be offering an extended open gym schedule for Bouncing Bears Monday through Saturday throughout the summer. Members may purchase a Bouncing Bears FunGym summer pass and enjoy unlimited open gym visits. A summer pass is valid June 22 – August 14 and costs $200 for one child and $25 for each additional child.
