Support Group Launched for Parents With Children Struggling With Addiction

A New Canaan father started the group after his son died of a heroin overdose.

NEW CANAAN, CT—Town resident Paul Reinhardt has launched a support group for parents of children struggling with addiction, something that is intimately familiar to him.

Reinhardt's on Evan began his battle with addiction in 2010 after being prescribed 30 opioid pills following widsom tooth surgery, according to the New Canaanite.

He battled with addiction until July 15, 2015 when he died following a heroin overdose.

Paul Reinhardt launched the confidential group two months ago to help parents through the process. IT runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Congregational Church of New Canaan.
