Survey: New Canaan Residents Invited To Give Opinions On Town Charter
Any changes proposed by the Charter Review Commission and approved by the Town Council will be on the election ballot in November 2026.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The town has released a survey where New Canaan residents can give their opinion on the town charter.
According to the town website, the town charter is currently being formally reviewed by the Charter Revision Commission, and a public input survey is now available for community members to suggest revisions and improvements to the charter's provisions.
The charter outlines the foundation of municipal government with respect to elected and appointed town officials and governing boards and commissions, representing leadership, legislative governance, education, elections, finance, health, parks and recreation, planning and zoning, public safety, public works and taxing among others, according to the town.

Residents are encouraged to voice their opinion on whether they are satisfied or dissatisfied with the structure of the town government, or if there are sections of the charter they you feel should be revised.
The deadline for the survey is March 15.
