NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a "suspicious" man who allegedly tried to entice two juvenile girls into the bathroom of the Dunkin donut shop on Elm Street on Thursday. The incident occurred at about 7:15 p.m.

"The black male in his early to mid 20's approached 2 female juveniles and asked them to come into the bathroom with him," wrote Lt. Jason Ferraro in a statement. "After declining the offer the girls fled Dunkin on foot with the black male following behind them. The girls were able to get away from the black male. The girls then contacted their parents who subsequently contacted the New Canaan Police."

Anyone who was in the area of Dunkin at the time - and/or recognizes the suspect - is urged to contact New Canaan Police Det. Patten at 203-594-3500.
