The Ones that Got Away: Teen Catches Fish, Loses Wallet and Cell Phone to Theft

When he went to show his friends the fish he just caught at Mill Pond, that was the last he ever saw of his wallet and cell phone.

Two girls were in the area where a 13-year-old New Canaan boy was fishing at Mill Pond on Friday, Oct. 17. So was his wallet and cell phone.

One of the girls was tall and thin, the other was shorter and heavier set. Both are black, believed to be of high school age and were at Mill Pond on Friday afternoon.

When he caught a fish, he walked a short distance away to show his friends.

And when he came back, his wallet (with $20 in it), his cell phone (an iPhone 5 valued at $300) and the two girls were gone.

And now all he’s got is a fish story about the wallet and cell phone that got away.
