Temporary Parking Lot Closures Announced During Paving In New Canaan: Town
Paving work to improve downtown traffic flow is currently underway in New Canaan, according to the town.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Temporary parking lot closures have been announced as paving work takes place in New Canaan over the next couple of weeks.
In a news release Wednesday, town officials said paving work at the Park Street and Playhouse parking lots is now underway as part of New Canaan's ongoing initiative to improve downtown traffic flow.
The following temporary closures were announced by the town:

- Playhouse Lot (located directly behind the Playhouse Theater) - closed Thursday, April 23, and Friday, April 24.
- Park Street Lot (Upper Lot-Park Street) - closed Monday, April 27, and Tuesday, April 28.
The town also provided the following alternate parking options during these closures:

Paid parking on Elm Street and South Avenue will be suspended during this time, and all existing time limits will be enforced, according to the town.

Pedestrian access may be limited during this time, and drivers are asked to please find an alternate route, town officials noted.
If weather or other factors extend the project, all updates will be communicated via the red alert box on the town website.
