Top 10 Small Towns with Big-Time Dining Scenes in CT

A list compiled by website OnlyInYourState has shined a spotlight on the 10 small towns in Connecticut that have amazing food and a vibrant restaurant presence.

The list takes special attention to stay away from metro areas when compiling the list, ensuring each town fits the criteria of “small town.” The site hopes by compiling the list to showcase places with restaurants that offer intimate atmospheres and local ingredients.

Topping the list are Tolland and Westport in the first and second slot respectively. Tolland is highlighted for its thin crust pizza, specifically at Camille’s Wood Fired Pizzas.

Those looking for healthier fare can also make their way to Monet’s Table, who serve a variety of a food and boast a “wholesome and delicious menu,” according to their website. They are open Wednesday through Friday for lunch, and also serve a popular Saturday brunch.

Westport’s mention is not shocking considering its proximity to metro areas like Norwalk and Stamford, as well as Greenwich and the city. Its many dining location are often located on or near the Saugatuck River, making for a variety of options for elegant waterfront dining.
