Town Council Supports First Selectman Duty Change
A majority of council members said they support a measure to remove the first selectman position from the role of Board of Finance chair.
NEW CANAAN, CT- A majority of town council members unofficially support a Charter Revision Commission recommendation to remove the first selectman position as the Board of Finance chair.
The Town Council took a non-binding poll at its Wednesday meeting that showed most members support the measure, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
Chairman Bill Walbert said the question should be put forth to voters on the November ballot.
