Trapping of Fox Concerns New Canaan Neighbor
A fox got caught in a trap intended to catch coyotes, prompting one neighbor to share her concerns for wildlife and dogs.

At least one New Canaan resident is concerned for wildlife and pet safety after a fox was accidentally caught in a trap.
Briscoe Road resident Rosemary DeClue contacted New Canaan Police Departmetn’s Animal Control unit after a fox was caught in a neighbor’s trap meant for coyotes, according to the New Canaanite.
The trap was near her property line and she saw the fox caught Wednesday after it began jumping around.
Trapping with a license is legal in Connecticut and no violations were found at the neighbor’s property. A Department of Energy and Environmental Protection spokesman said that the trapper agreed to move the trap away from the property line.
