Upcoming Open Houses In New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan's open houses this weekend span more than two centuries, from the Seely House, which its listing traces to the Revolutionary era, to a new gated estate with a guest house and a "club level" bar.

There's also a Colonial by architect Dinyar Wadia with a pond and footbridge and a reimagined estate on grounds once kept by a garden writer.

Seven New Canaan homes are holding open houses Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, with prices from $1,290,000 to $8,495,000, according to Zillow.com.

Saturday, Nov. 7

68 Old Stamford Road, noon to 2 p.m., $1,495,000. This five-bedroom, 2.5-bath home is the Seely House, which the listing says traces its origins to the years around the American Revolution; Zillow dates it to 1804. Historic details are paired with modern comforts, and the listing says it has a legally permitted professional office now used by a doctor. It's moments from downtown, and the roof was replaced in July 2026. It has 2,788 square feet.

176 Summer Street #C, noon to 2 p.m. (also Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m.), $1,290,000. This three-bedroom, 3.5-bath townhouse is an end unit at Essex Ridge that the listing says was completely reimagined in 2023, with new floors, a redesigned staircase, a new kitchen, renovated baths, new windows and HVAC and a finished lower level. It's about a 10-minute walk to the village and train. It has 1,494 square feet and a $425 monthly HOA fee, per Zillow.

311 South Bald Hill Road, noon to 3 p.m. (also Sunday, noon to 2 p.m.), $3,995,000. This six-bedroom, 7.5-bath home was reimagined in 2026 by GreenDay Co. on 2.43 acres with stone walls, walking trails and a pond, grounds the listing says were once home to George Valchar, author of "My Connecticut Garden." Inside are wide-plank white oak floors, limewash finishes and a kitchen with a 60-inch Wolf range. A pool cabana with a grill kitchen opens to a heated gunite pool and spa. It has 6,529 square feet, and the price was cut $300,000 on Nov. 4.

259 Frogtown Road, 1 to 3 p.m., $8,495,000. This seven-bedroom, 9.5-bath home is newly built behind a gated entrance on two landscaped acres, with seven fireplaces, an elevator, limewashed walls and a primary suite the listing likens to a five-star hotel. A lower "club level" has a substantial bar, and outside are a pool and spa, a pool house with an indoor grill and a separate guest house. It has 14,216 square feet, and the price was cut $245,000 on Nov. 4.

102 Silver Ridge Road, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., $4,975,000. It has 8,096 square feet on 1.07 acres, and the price was cut $500,000 on Oct. 23.

67 West Hills Road, 2 to 4 p.m., $3,195,000. This five-bedroom center-hall Colonial with four full and two half baths was designed by architect Dinyar Wadia, according to the listing, and sits on more than 2 acres with a pond, fountain and footbridge. The living room leads to a wet bar and an oversized library with a marble fireplace and room for a grand piano, and walls of French doors open to a deck across the back. It has 4,615 square feet and a three-car garage.

31 Richmond Hill Road #31, 2:30 to 4 p.m., $2,595,000. This four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home is a standalone rear unit in town, with a private elevator to all levels, a chef's kitchen, a finished attic and a 1,200-square-foot unfinished basement. There's a whole-house generator. It has 4,650 square feet.

Saturday starts at noon with the Seely House, Essex Ridge and South Bald Hill Road, then Frogtown Road from 1 p.m. Sunday's newcomers come in the afternoon: Silver Ridge Road at 12:30, West Hills Road at 2 and Richmond Hill Road at 2:30.
