USPS Executive: New Canaan Site Was Already in the Cards
The post office changed locations after their Pine Street lease was up
NEW CANAAN, CT — A district manager for the United States Postal Service said that planning for a new New Canaan location was always in the cards.
Connecticut Valley District Manager David Mastroianni Jr. said he was surprised by First Selectman Robert Mallozzi's comments that he and other politicians had to fight for a new location after the lease on the Pine Street location was set to expire, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
The Post Office is now on Locust Avenue.

Mastroianni said something like a lease expiring puts the office under the gun to find a new location, but that similar situations happen all over the country and USPS tries very hard to find alternative nearby sites.
