Woman Killed, Driver Injured In Fiery Crash On Route 15 In New Canaan: State Police
State police said the car became engulfed in fire after hitting a tree near the right shoulder of the highway.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A woman was killed and a passenger was injured in a crash Tuesday night on Route 15 in New Canaan, according to Connecticut State Police.
According to an accident information summary provided by state police, a one-car crash was reported around 10 p.m. on Route 15 northbound near Exit 13 in New Canaan.
An investigation revealed a 2011 Honda Accord left the established lanes of travel for unknown reasons and hit a tree near the right shoulder of the highway, according to state police.

The vehicle became engulfed in fire as a result of the crash, state police said.
An unidentified female passenger was found inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by Stamford EMS, according to state police.

The driver of the vehicle, a Bridgeport resident, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Stamford EMS, state police said.
The State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Squad responded to the area to assist with the crash investigation, state police said.
