Would Anyone, Dressed Like This, Knowingly Pass a Phony $2 Bill Downtown? Anyone?

A young man, not exactly dressed to look anonymous, paid for some chewing tobacco with a real $5 bill and a phony $2 bill.

A young man, about 18 or 20 years old, used a counterfeit $2 bill to pay for some chewing tobacco at the Mobil gas station at 16 South Ave. on Sunday, Nov. 2.

The young man exchanged the bill at about 9 p.m. At some point after the customer left, people at the store realized the bill was phony, and at 8:20 a.m. the next morning the matter was reported to police. The U.S. Secret Service was notified.

The man, who may or may not have realized the bill was fake, is described as white; with brown hair; wearing a blue, zip-up fleece jacket; a white undershirt; blue, plaid shorts; brown slippers and walking with a small, white dog.
