16-Year-Old Shot Monday, Walked Into Hospital: Police

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating after a teen who had been shot "walked into Yale New Haven Hospital," New Haven police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating a shooting Monday morning after learning that a teen "struck by gunfire," walked into the hospital, New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway said.

Shumway said police got a call that a 16-year-old who has been shot went to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment. He said police did not get any 911 calls reporting gunfire nor a Shotspotter alert. No other details were available.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded and are continuing to investigate, Shumway said.
