17-Month-Old Girl Dies After Overdose Of Adult Medication: UPDATE

The child, who was being treated at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, had ingested adult medication, according to police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The 17-month-old girl, who ingested adult medication at a home in New Haven over the weekend, has died, reports WTNH-TV. News of the overdose initially was reported by the New Haven Register.

The child, who had been listed in "extremely critical condition," was pronounced dead on Tuesday.

The ininitial incident occurred at about 12:40 p.m. on Saturday at a home on Norton Street. In addition to New Haven police, the state Department of Children and Families also is investigating the case.
