$2.5K Reward For Info On Emaciated Dog Abandoned Near West Rock: PD
Named Nakia by rescuers, the malnourished pup was abandoned in West Rock Park. Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates is offering the reward.

NEW HAVEN, CT —A $2,500 reward is being offered that leads to a positive identification of the person(s) responsible for abandoning an emaciated dog near west Rock Park, police said.

According to the New Haven Police Department and its Animal Shelter Instagram accounts, this is the "second abandoned dog of the day picked up by" the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter. The starving female pup was found in West Rock Park.

"We've named her Nakia, meaning faith and hope," the animal shelter posted. "Let's work together to give Nakia the care and love she deserves."
Anyone with information, or who recognizes the dog, are asked to contact the New Haven Animal Shelter at 203-946-8110.
