2 New Haven Men, 1 North Haven Woman Hurt In 2 Weekend Shootings: PD

Police say major crime detectives are investigating two separate Saturday shootings that left three people hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Shootings Saturday night left three with non-threatening gunshot injuries, police said.

Just before 10 p.m. on Goff Street, between Orchard and Winter streets, police found a 49-year-old New Haven man, and a 30-year-old North Haven woman, struck by gunfire, police spokesperson Scott Shumway said. Taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

Ninety minutes later, just before 11:30 p.m., a 21-year-old New Haven man was shot on Greenwood Street, between Legion and Sylvan avenues, Shumway said. Also taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Bureau of Identification responded to the scene and collected ballistic evidence from both shootings. Major Crimes Unit detectives are leading both investigations.
