NEW HAVEN, CT - From New Haven Police Department: On Saturday, March 30, 2019, members of the New Haven Police Department and New Haven Fire Department will face off in the 23 rd Annual Chief’s Cup Hockey Game. The game will take place at Ingalls Rink located at 73 Sachem Street, New Haven. Game time is 1:30 p.m. The Fire Department will look to avenge last year’s loss in which the Police Department won in dramatic fashion early in overtime.

The Chief’s Cup is a yearly benefit game which capitalizes on the friendly rivalry between the Police Department and the Fire Department. The event is also an effort to raise money for people in need. Over the years the Chief’s Cup has raised money for police officers, firefighters, family members and members of the community. This year the Police Department’s beneficiary is Officer Thomas Murray. The Fire Department’s beneficiary is Clencie Osorio, the wife of Fire Lieutenant Jose Osorio.

The Chief’s Cup Committee is proud to honor Officer Raul Pereira as Police Officer of the Year and Firefighter Michael Miller as Firefighter of the Year. Both exemplify the best qualities of their respective departments and will be in attendance with their families during the game.
