23-Year-Old New Haven Man Shot Saturday Night: Police

Just after 9 p.m., police found a man struck by gunfire on Lamberton Street. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT —A 23-year-old New Haven man was shot on Lamberton Street Saturday night, police said.

Just after 9 p.m., police officers "heard gunfire" and then got a Shotspotter alert about gunfire on Lamberton Street, between Dewitt Street and Kimberly Avenue, police spokesperson Scott Shumway said. Police found the man struck by gunfire, and he was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Shumway said.

The Bureau of Identification responded and collected ballistic evidence from the scene. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
