Update: New Haven Man, 26, Fatally Shot Saturday Identified By Police

Tyrese Alexander Blue Jr. was fatally shot after reports of an argument and gunfire in the Hill Saturday police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 26-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday in New Haven, according to police.

Monday, police said Tyrese Alexander Blue Jr. was the victim in the fatal shooting.

Emergency personnel responded around 8:30 p.m. to Cedar and Cassius streets, where they found the man, who had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead, police said.

Authorities received reports of an argument and gunfire in the area of the shooting, according to police, who said that ShotSpotter was not activated in the area but that ballistic evidence was found.
