50-Year-Old New Haven Man Shot Overnight On Wolcott Street: Police
Just before 1 a.m., a 911 call came in about a shooting on Wolcott between Poplar and Ferry streets, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, New Haven police got a 911 call about a person shot on Wolcott Street, between Poplar and Ferry streets, police said. Officers found a 50-year-old New Haven man who'd been struck by gunfire, police spokesperson Scott Shumway said.
The injured man was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and listed in stable condition, Shumway said.
The Bureau of Identification responded, processed the scene, and collected ballistic evidence. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
