8-Year-Old Boy's Death Ruled a Homicide In New Haven
The boy was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that the shooting death of an 8-year-old boy on Aug. 6 was a homicide.
New Haven police continue to investigate the shooting that occurred in the boy's Howard Avenue home. The incident was isolated and there is no danger to the public, said police spokesman Capt. Anthony Duff.
A preliminary investigation found the shooting was accidental, Duff said.

The boy was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
