Rosemary (Sorbella) Rasile, 58 of Amenia NY passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026 at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born September 27, 1967 in Port Chester NY to Thomas and MaryAnn (Braccio) Sorbella. Rosemary is survived by her two devoted sons; Zachary Rasile and his wife Kathreen of Amenia NY, and Brett Rasile and his wife Kelsey of New Haven CT, as well as her granddaughter, Katalina Rasile. Rosemary is also survived by her siblings; John Sorbella (Lisa) of Niverville NY and Debbie Sorbella (Cynthia Exner) of Florida along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Walter Rasile (2012).
Rosemary graduated from Port Chester High School in 1985 and met her eventual husband Walter while working at Pitney Bowes. In 1990, she moved on to a long and fruitful career as a Contract Administrator with Carrier Corporation, lasting over 20 years. Rosemary had a fondness for film and TV - she would spend hours discussing the latest episodes of her favorite series every week with her sons. She always loved to vacation with her family, and many great memories were made on the beaches of Provincetown, MA.
Rosemary lived a life of love centered around her family and friends, creating a household where anyone could come and feel welcome. Her cooking was second to none and always the centerpiece to the fondest of memories: holiday parties, Sunday dinners, and weekday meals. She was a glowing example of resilience and strength, and worked hard to make wonderful lives for her sons and lead them to great opportunities. Her selflessness shined as she cared for her husband and parents through sickness, even when dealing with her own. We are forever thankful for the impact she left on us, and will continue to share her values of camaraderie and nourishment with the world.
Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 18th at 11:00AM in The Church of Immaculate Conception - 4 Lavelle Road Amenia, NY. Please go directly to the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Assistance Fund (tafcares.org/?form=donate), an organization that allowed Rosemary access to crucial medication for her rare disease. In loving memory of our mother, Rosemary Rasile.
