NEW HAVEN, CT — A "cyber tip" from an out-of-state law enforcement agency led New Haven police Special Victims Unit investigators to Ellsworth Avenue Tuesday, where they executed a search warrant in connection with a child pornography investigation, police said.
That search resulted in the arrest of Xavier Reyes, 27, of New Haven.
Reyes was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography. He is being held on a $400,000 bond.
According to a police post on social media, in May, a New Haven Police Task Force officer received a cyber tip that indicated child sex abuse materials being controlled by an individual in the New Haven area.

"Through an extensive investigation, a search and seizure warrant was granted and executed at an Ellsworth Avenue address. Reyes was inside the residence during the time of the search warrant and was taken into custody.
Members of Homeland Security Investigations and Adult Probation assisted with the search warrant execution, police said.
