Students in grades K–12 will have the opportunity to share their scientific investigations, engineering designs, and innovative solutions while engaging with scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals, and STEM industry leaders.

In addition to student projects, the event will feature 14 interactive STEM activity stations led by representatives from local universities, bioscience companies, biotechnology organizations, museums, healthcare institutions, and community partners.

These hands-on experiences will allow students to explore real-world applications of science while learning about future educational and career opportunities in STEM fields.

The Science Fair’s theme, “The Power of Thinking: Brain and Engineering Expo,” will highlight the intersection of neuroscience, engineering, innovation, and problem-solving.

Participating organizations include partners from Yale University, local biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organizations, museums, law enforcement agencies, and numerous community STEM programs.

Students will have opportunities to interact directly with professionals, examine scientific specimens, explore engineering concepts, and participate in engaging demonstrations.

"This event celebrates the incredible curiosity, creativity, and hard work of our students," said Robert McCain, Supervisor of Science for New Haven Public Schools. "The Science Fair not only showcases outstanding student achievement but also connects young people with the scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals, and innovators who are shaping our future. We are incredibly grateful to our community partners for helping make this experience possible."

The fair will be divided across two locations:

Students will present projects in a variety of scientific disciplines, including biology, environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering, technology, and health sciences. Projects will be evaluated by volunteer judges from higher education, industry, healthcare, and community organizations.

The New Haven Public Schools District Science Fair reflects the district’s commitment to providing high-quality STEM learning experiences and preparing students for college, careers, and civic engagement in an increasingly science- and technology-driven world.
