Given forecasted inclement weather, Monday commencements will be held indoors. That for Wilbur Cross High School will move to Tuesday at Floyd Little Athletic Center.

The proportion of NHPS graduates planning to attend four-year colleges this fall is the highest it has been in five years—jumping up 4.5 percent since last year to reach 50.9%.

Trade and vocational school placement has climbed steadily year-over-year, hitting a five-year high of 9.3%.

While the percentage of graduates headed straight to work is up slightly (6.8% vs. 5.9% last year), the quality of employment has improved significantly.

35% of these students are entering higher-wage career pipelines, accepting jobs with such employers as Electric Boat and Metro-North, in union trades, and in EMT services.

At 73%, the district is seeing the highest percentage of graduates remaining in-state in the five-year period; that proportion typically hovers around 70%.
