NEW HAVEN, CT — Wednesday, Mayor Justin Elicker, Fire Chief Daniel Coughlin, Police Chief David Zannelli, and other city officials shared details about New Haven’s upcoming Fourth of July fireworks celebration, which will commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary. Their remarks also touched upon fireworks safety.
New Haven’s fireworks celebration is one of the largest in the state and is scheduled for Saturday, July 4.
The fireworks will be set off from the summit of East Rock Park, and the official in-person viewing sites are the .
Pre-fireworks festivities begin at 6 p.m.—including music, DJs and food trucks—and the fireworks display begins just after 9 p.m., lasting approximately 25 minutes.
The media sponsors for New Haven’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration are News 8 and WYBC. News 8 will be streaming the fireworks celebration live at WTNH.com and broadcasting it on WCTX Channel 9 and the News 8 streaming app. WYBC 94.3 will provide the music before and during the fireworks display.
The rain date is Sunday, July 5th.
