Investigators believe he was specifically targeted and are asking anyone with information to contact detectives or the anonymous tip line as they work to learn more about what happened.
3. Yale police officer charged with workers' comp fraud (nhregister.com) — A New Haven man who worked as a Yale campus police officer has been charged with allegedly collecting nearly $39,000 in workers' compensation benefits he wasn't entitled to. State investigators say documentation shows he exceeded medical restrictions while on disability, and he's due in New Haven Superior Court on Sept. 29 to face larceny, perjury, and fraud charges.
4. Brookhaven And Stony Brook Researchers Demonstrate 'Wireless' Capability for Quantum Network (thequantuminsider.com) — New Haven's Yale University is set to become the third hub in a pioneering quantum network, linking a new facility there to Brookhaven Lab and Stony Brook via a 30‑mile free‑space optical link. Researchers have already sent entangled photons wirelessly over 13 miles on Long Island, and the expanded network could eventually connect to satellites, enabling ultra‑secure communications and advanced quantum experiments that include New Haven‑based systems.
