NEW HAVEN, CT — Early Friday morning, a person was shot on Dixwell Avenue in New Haven, police said.

Around 8:20 a.m., officers were called to the 200-block of the busy thoroughfare for the report of a gunshot victim, police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart said.

That section of Dixwell is between Charles and Webster streets.

No other details were immediately available.
