New Haven Open Houses Oct. 10-11: A Westville Ranch, 2 Morris Cove Colonials And 2 Multifamilies

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven's open houses this weekend include two updated Colonials in Morris Cove, near the beaches and Tweed airport, and a renovated ranch in Westville a few minutes from Hopkins School and Yale. Two multifamily buildings round out the list, one near Yale New Haven Hospital and one near its Saint Raphael Campus.

Five New Haven homes are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, with prices from $375,000 to $675,000, according to Zillow.com.

Saturday, Oct. 10

154 Kohary Drive, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (also Sunday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), $675,000. Set beneath mature trees in Westville, this renovated 1954 ranch is near Hopkins School, Yale and downtown, according to the listing. The current owner opened the kitchen to the living area, and the kitchen has quartz counters, white shaker cabinets and an island. A sunroom and family room add space, and the finished lower level has a wet bar, a bedroom and a full bath. It's a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home with 2,110 square feet on 0.47 acres.

23 Girard Ave., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., $375,000. This remodeled 1925 Colonial in Morris Cove has an open living and dining area, a remodeled kitchen with main-level laundry and a heated, carpeted finished attic that could be a third bedroom. The finished basement has a bar, a built-in entertainment center and a gas fireplace. Outside, a fenced yard has a deck and a fire pit surrounded by more decking. It's a three-bedroom, 1.5-bath home with 1,837 square feet. Its price was cut by $10,000 on Sept. 17.

Sunday, Oct. 11

99 Girard Ave., noon to 2 p.m., $434,000. Also in Morris Cove, this updated 1928 house has a year-round sun porch, a vaulted bonus room and refinished hardwood floors. It also has new windows, a new roof, central air and solar panels. Outside are a deck, a patio and a one-car garage. The listing notes it's near Tweed New Haven Airport and that the street has permit-only parking. It's a three-bedroom, two-bath home with 1,744 square feet. Its price was cut by $15,900 on Oct. 5.

6 Arch St., noon to 1 p.m., $440,000. This renovated two-family home has a two-bedroom unit and a five-bedroom, two-bath unit, and the listing puts it near Yale New Haven Hospital and downtown. Zillow counts it as a seven-bedroom, three-bath property with 2,324 square feet.

55 Parmalee Ave., noon to 1:30 p.m., $599,000. This brick three-family building near Yale New Haven Hospital's Saint Raphael Campus has townhouse-style units, each with a private entrance, 1.5 baths and hardwood floors. It's fully occupied, according to the listing, and has a detached garage, off-street parking and a large backyard. Zillow counts it as a seven-bedroom property with three full and three half baths and 3,900 square feet. Its price was cut by $50,000 on Sept. 25.

Also open Sunday: 154 Kohary Drive (11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).

Make a weekend of it: Saturday morning offers a choice between Westville's Kohary Drive and Morris Cove's 23 Girard Ave., both open at 11 a.m. On Sunday, stay in Morris Cove for 99 Girard Ave. at noon, or head toward the hospital district, where Arch Street and Parmalee Avenue both open at noon.
