Armed Robber Holds Up New Haven Gas Station

Police are investigating the early Tuesday morning incident.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating following an early Tuesday morning robbery of a Shell gas station at 141 Willow Street. The incident occurred at 3:15 a.m.

Police arrived at the scene to find that a robber entered the convenience store, pointed a handgun at the store clerk, and demanded the entire cash drawer.

The clerk removed the cash drawer from the register and handed it to the robber who then fled on foot to a waiting vehicle at the corner of Willow and Nash streets.

The robber is believed to have been a passenger in the getaway car which was last seen traveling east on Willow Street toward Blatchley Avenue, police said.

The robber is described as a Hispanic male wearing a black baseball hat, a medical mask, dark colored pants, and an orange or red tee shirt with a restaurant name on the front and back.

A cash drawer containing an undetermined amount of money was stolen in the incident.
