The Big Green Truck Pizza vehicle was traveling on I-91 and was hit by the car Gomez was driving at what appears to be a very high rate of speed. Flipped onto its side after being struck, it slid for along the highway before coming to rest, on its side, well down the roadway.

According to a Connecticut State Police report, a 2005 Toyota Scion crossed all lanes of travel in the northbound lane of the interstate and collided with the truck just south of Cromwell exit 21. When the Toyota came to rest, the driver, now identified as Gomez, took off on foot, police said.

The driver and other truck staff were injured but sustained "minor bruises and scratches," per a social media post.

Liane Page of Big Green Truck Pizza told Patch last month that they're thankful for the love and support and now, the focus is on rebuilding.

Insurance won't cover the $250,000 needed to get the truck back up and running. A GoFundMe was created and as of Monday, $29,000 has been pledged to help them rebuild.

"We are strong, and we will rebuild," Page wrote.

"The Connecticut State Police would like to thank our media partners for circulating the image of the evading vehicle operator and getting our message out to the public," a news release from state police reads. "Many thanks to everyone who shared our social media posts about the investigation and for the many tips received, helping Troopers bring this case to a successful conclusion."
