Autonomous Yale Hospital Shuttles Pitched
The shuttles would carry passengers between Yale-New Haven Hospital's two campuses.
NEW HAVEN, CT — The city is submitting a plan to the state that would pave the way for a pilot program for autonomous shuttles.
The shuttle would transport between eight and 16 people between Yale-New Haven Hospital's two campuses at a speed of 10 to 15 miles per hour, according to the New Haven Independent.
Funding for the pilot program would come from the New Haven Parking Authority. An emergency human driver would also ride on the shuttle just in case.
