
NEW HAVEN, CT — Two Fairfield men were killed after a boat struck a breakwater in New Haven Harbor.
A passerby reported seeing an overturned and damaged vessel Sunday morning. The 32-foot 2017 Seat Fox power boat struck the north side of the west break wall in the harbor area during the evening hours Saturday, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Scott Trautman, 46, was recovered on the break wall Sunday and pronounced dead at the scene. Michael Murphy, 53, was found dead Sunday night by a dive team.

EnCon Police are still actively investigating the incident. New Haven, West Haven and Milford fire and police departments were involved in the search. The West Haven Harbormaster and Sea Tow also helped.
