Boy, 16, Shot Sunday Night On Portsea Street: New Haven Police

The teen walked into Yale New Haven Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 16-year-old boy was shot Sunday night in New Haven, police said.

At around 7 p.m., the teen walked into Yale New Haven Hospital suffering from non-life-threatening injures, police spokesperson Scott Shumway said.

The shooting happened on Portsea Street, between Liberty Street and Loop Road, Shumway said.

Detectives from the Bureau of Identification responded and collected ballistic evidence. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
