Branford Man, 25, Killed In Overnight New Haven Crash: Police

NEW HAVEN, CT —A 25-year-old Branford man, a passenger in a car involved in a 2-vehicle crash in New Haven overnight, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Just before 1 a.m. Friday, police were dispatched to the intersection of Trumbull and Orange streets and found two vehicles which crashed in the intersection; a grey Volvo, being operated by a 25-year-old Milford man, and a white Ford E450 box truck, being operated by a 30-year-old Naugatuck man, according to police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway.
American Medical Response transported both operators to Yale New Haven Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, he said. The passenger in the Volvo, identified as 25-year-old Max Peters of Branford, was pronounced deceased at the scene, Shumway said.

The New Haven Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is leading the investigation.
