Bring a Friend to Dance: Ages 3 to 9

New Haven Ballet invites children ages 3 to 9 who are new to the school to attend a dance class for just $10 this September.

The new trial class program is designed to give families an easy, affordable way to discover the joy of dance and experience the welcoming environment at New Haven Ballet before making a commitment to enroll.

“We want families to have an opportunity to come into the studio, meet our teachers, and see how much fun their child can have in class,” said Lisa Kim, Artistic Director.“A first dance class can be a big step for a young child, so we wanted to make it easy for families to give it a try.”

The $10 trial class is available to children ages 3 to 9 who are not currently enrolled and are new to New Haven Ballet. Families can choose an age-appropriate class and register online before attending.

As part of the studio’s September marketing program, currently enrolled families are also encouraged to invite a friend, neighbor, classmate, or family member to join them for a $10 trial class. If the new student enrolls, the referring family will receive a $25 tuition credit as a thank-you.

“We love the idea of our students sharing something they enjoy with their friends,” added Timothy Fountain, Children’s Division Director. “It’s a wonderful way for children to experience dance together and for new families to get to know our school.”

About the Children’s Division

At New Haven Ballet, we believe a child’s first ballet experience should be joyful, inspiring, and nurturing. Our youngest dancers are welcomed into bright, spacious studios where they can explore movement, music, and creativity under the guidance of some of the region’s finest instructors.

Our gentle approach syllabus is specially designed for children, using age- and grade-appropriate exercises that introduce the basics of ballet while encouraging imagination, coordination, and musicality. As children grow, they gain the skills, focus, and confidence to transition into our more advanced Student Division.

Students in Creative Ballet and above are invited to audition and perform in The Nutcracker and Spring Performance at the Shubert Theatre, a magical experience for dancers and families alike.
