Budget Town Halls Begin Thursday, Alders Budget Public Hearings Start March 19
Mayor submitted his proposed $733.3M city budget to the Board of Alders for consideration and review. It's time for folks to weigh in.

NEW HAVEN, CT—It's time for residents to weigh in on New haven Mayor Justin Elicker's proposed city budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027.
The budget town hall meetings begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Metropolitan Business Academy.
The Board of Alders budget public hearings begin March 19.

Earlier this month, Elicker submitted his proposed $733.3 million city budget to the Board of Alders for consideration and review. The budget represents an increase of 4.4 percent over the previous year's spending plan.
Elicker also submitted a Special Revenue Funds budget of $48.5 million, which includes local, state, and federal grants.

"As always, there is a lot in the budget, so we’ve organized a series of budget town halls to provide residents with the opportunity to learn more about the budget, ask any questions they may have, and provide input and feedback on the proposals," he said.
The budget town halls schedule:
- Thursday, March 12th at 6 pm at Metropolitan Business Academy, located at 115 Water Street.
- Wednesday, March 18th at 6 pm at Hill Regional Career High School, located at 140 Legion Avenue.
- Thursday, March 26th at 6 pm at East Rock Magnet School, located at 133 Nash Street.

"I look forward to engaging with residents and the Board of Alders in adopting a final budget by June 1 that supports our continued growth, reflects our shared values and priorities, and moves our city forward," Elicker said.
