Business, New Salon Opens In New Haven
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8.

From Yale: Yale University Properties is hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 1:00pm to welcome Salon E’Selim to New Haven. The ceremony will take place at 45 Whalley Avenue and is open to the public. Ebony Selima Peterson-Dease, owner of Salon E’Selim, has been a cosmetologist her entire life. She gained valuable experience from several notable salons, first in South Carolina and more recently in Connecticut. Ebony resides in New Haven with her husband and daughter. Salon E’Selim offers a wide-variety of services for men and women including; haircuts, extensions, coloring, bridal services, up-do’s, natural hair care and more. “My passion for hair started at the age of 7. The artistry of creating styles and making people feel and look beautiful is what made me want to become a cosmetologist,” said Ebony Selima Peterson-Dease, owner of Salon E’Selim. "Customers can expect southern hospitality when they enter my salon."
Salon E’Selim, located at 45 Whalley Avenue, is open Tuesday from 9:30am-2:00pm, Wednesday through Friday, 9:30am-6:00pm and Saturday 8:30am-2:00pm. “We are delighted to welcome Salon E’Selim to New Haven,” said Lauren Zucker, Yale University Associate Vice President for New Haven Affairs and University Properties. “Yale University’s community investment program supports independently owned businesses, bringing jobs to New Haven residents and expanding the city’s tax base.”
