Convicted Child Rapist Gets 30 Years in Prison For Repeatedly Sexually Assaulting 2 Minors: State's Attorney

The two victims, now adults, were repeatedly sexually assaulted by Brian Flores-Colon when they were between the ages of 8 and 16: Jury.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Convicted of repeatedly raping two girls when they were between the ages of 8 and 16, a New Haven man will spend 30 years in prison and 30 years on special parole, State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced Wednesday.

In January, a New Haven Superior Court jury found Brian Flores Colon, 46, guilty of three counts of first-degree sexual assault and another three counts of first-degree sexual assault, Doyle said.

Evidence introduced at trial included the testimony of the two victims, now adults, who each reported to New Haven police that they had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by the defendant when they were between the ages of 8 and 16 years old, according to the State's Attorney.

The two cases were joined for a consolidated trial before a jury in New Haven Superior Court. Both victims were present at the sentencing hearing and provided victim-impact statements.

This case was investigated by the New Haven Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Cynthia Lill and Assistant State’s Attorney Thomas Finnucan, with assistance from Inspector Kevin Grenier, Inspector Jeffrey Cortes, and Office of Victim Services Advocate Christie Ciancola.
