CT Folk Presents 'Folk At The Edge' Concert At Edgewood Park
There's still time to enjoy two more CT Folk concerts at Edgewood Park on Aug. 26 and Sept. 25.
Press release from CT Folk:
Aug. 17, 2021
As most of us have had to do this past year, CT Folk has pivoted in the wake of our collective new normal. The former one-day music festival, which would draw upwards of 5,000 attendees, has broken out into four concert events throughout the summer and found a new home at New Haven’s Edgewood Park. Now called Folk at the Edge, sponsored by Grassy Hill Entertainment, concert-goers have even more opportunities to enjoy an eclectic array of folk music artists right in the heart of New Haven. And your support stays right here in the community, as ticket proceeds benefit CT Folk’s mission “to engage, entertain and inspire a diverse audience through music and conversation, and to help create a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable community.”

Lisa Kaston, CT Folk Board President says, “In the midst of the challenges of this past year, we have taken the opportunity to strengthen our existing partnerships and explore ways in which new alliances can help to further engage and celebrate our diverse community.” Event Director Nicole Heriot-Mikula adds, “We invite and strongly encourage people to support local artists, live music, independent music venues, and arts organizations such as CT Folk. We must celebrate the magic that live music creates and the community it brings together.”
After two great shows featuring Twisted Pine, Dylan Hartigan, and Maggie Rose, Folk at the Edge is keeping the sounds of summer playing on Thursday, August 26, with two acts whose excellence in soulful songwriting sits front and center. Local favorite and New Haven stalwart, Goodnight Moonshine will directly support Pokey LaFarge, who mixes a variety of styles and traditions, while never losing sight of his own vision. CT Folk is delighted to be hosting Pokey LaFarge as one of the stops on his mini–New England solo tour, with a little help from featured vocalist Addie Hamilton. Gates open at 5:00 PM and the show runs until 9:00 PM. Individual tickets are $35 and children ages 12 and under are free at this family-friendly event. In addition to individual tickets, VIP Party Pods are available for purchase. Get your tickets for Folk at the Edge at CTFolk.org. Please note, for the safety of our community attendees of all outdoor shows will be required to wear masks when they are not seated.

And stay tuned for Amythyst Kiah who will headline the Folk at the Edge Series on Saturday, September 25 with openers Phat A$tronaut and Tabisa. Labeled “one of Americana’s great up-and-coming secrets” by Rolling Stone, Kiah seamlessly blends the iconoclastic alt-rock that first sparked her musical passion, and the old-time-music scene where she’s found breakout success in recent years. This event will have earlier gate open time and include food trucks and local artisans, as well.
