CT Man Threatened To Kill Trump: Indictment

A Connecticut man was federally indicted on charges of making hoax threats, including threatening President Donald Trump.

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven man Gary Gravelle aka Roland Prejean, 51, was indicted on 16 criminal counts by a federal grand jury over numerous alleged hoax threats, including one to President Donald Trump.

Gravelle used the U.S. mail system, emails and telephone messages to send threats to harm people and explode property in Connecticut, Vermont and Washington, according to the indictment. Some letters contained a white powder substance and statements that the contents contained anthrax.

His list of threats include ones to mental health providers, U.S. Probation officers, a U.S. District Court judge, an international airport, a federal prison, a credit union and various organizations and religious centers in Connecticut.

The threat against Trump can in the form of a letter addressed to him. A letter included the words "You Die" along with a message about anthrax and a white powdery substance, according to the indictment.

Gravelle was arrested in September 2018 for violating terms of his federal supervised release. He is charged with 12 counts of maliciously conveying false information about an explosive, three counts of false information and hoax and one count of threat against a president.
