Denali Run the Gauntlet Moves to Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven!

New Haven, CT: The 5th Annual Denali Run the Gauntlet 5K is moving to Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven on October 9, 2016! Due to construction in Hammonasset Beach State Park, the event will take place at a new location this year. The race expects a record crowd of 800 participants to conquer 14 natural and man-made obstacles while covering 3.1 miles along the trails and beaches of Lighthouse Point Park. In addition to the 5K race, the event features a free Kids Mini Gauntlet. The event benefits the Soundview Family YMCA and the Denali Foundation.

Denali Run the Gauntlet offers three heats that go off at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 A.M. The 9:00 and 10:00 A.M. heats are filling up quickly! Denali Run the Gauntlet offers tech t-shirts to the first 600 entrants. All remaining entrants receive cotton t-shirts. Entry includes a complimentary post-race beach party! The party features live music, pizza from Old World Pizza Truck, beer from Thimble Island Brewing Company (for 21+), awards ceremony and more!

Participants can take part in Denali Run the Gauntlet’s Team Competitions! Teams are accepted in the following categories: Family, Corporate, Open, YMCA and Crossfit/Gym Team. Awards are given to the top three teams in each category. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers as well as top three male and female age group finishers. Awards are also presented to the best team name and best team costumes!
