Derby Avenue Liquor Store Clerk Shot During Saturday Night Robbery: PD
The Yale Bowl Liquor Store clerk, a 53-year-old man from Wallingford, was shot during a hold-up and suffered "serious injures," police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Yale Bowl Liquor Store clerk was shot during a robbery Saturday night, police said.
At around 6:30 p.m., New Haven police got a 911 call regarding a person shot at 85 Derby Ave., site of the package store, according to police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway.
When cops got there, they found the clerk, a 53-year-old Wallingford man, had been shot, Shumway said. Rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital, he was treated for "serious injuries" and remains in stable condition, he said.

Shumway said the police department's Bureau of Identification "recovered ballistic evidence and surveillance footage." Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
